Braille Tales Books
Now available at the Clarkston Independence District Libary!
An effort of the Lions supported
American Printing House for the Blind
Doll Parton's Imagination Library
Families with vision impaired children from birth through age 5 can register to receive a free book every other month. The books are regular children's books with a clear, braille impressed label overlaid on each page. That way a parent can be reading a book to all their children while the blind child follows along with their fingers over the braille lettering.
Thanks to the efforts our local Clarkston Area Lions and the organizations mentioned above we now have a number of these wonderful preschool aged books available at our local library.
If you have a child who could benefit from the program or know someone who does click on the information link listed below. Included at the site is qualification information and registration forms.
